The timing of printed material media is fixed by necessity... my C&O covers
a particular era - one that could be connected to completion of CSX's signal replacement program on the Kanawha sub in 2010, with other subdivisions soon to follow.  One goal of my C&O is to depict the railroad in the final decades of service of the classic C&O signals.

Union Switch & Signal color lights were installed by C&O from the late 1920s and some served the railroad for over 80 years. Photographed between 2004 and 2009, the Kentucky and West Virginia signals above have been replaced with modern Safe-Trans color lights on aluminum bases.  Ohio signal work is underway.  C&O color light signals still serve on some main line subdivisions and coal branches.
